Spend a week painting the beautiful, historic countryside in the Chianti region of Tuscany with renowned artist Costa Vavagiakis. This workshop is for the person who wants to get out of their studio to see and experience one of the most charming and alluring locations in the world. There will be six hours of instruction each day, working mornings and afternoons painting in plein air. Our driver will take us daily to the nearby towns and medieval villages to paint their panoramic breathtaking views.
This workshop is designed for all level of artists and open to oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel. In this classic setting we will delve deeper into the aspects of plein air painting. Working from direct observation, we will be learning to quickly interpret the essential information to effectively design and compose a landscape painting. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of value and color relationships, atmospheric perspective, the dynamics of light combined with a study of shapes and edges.
