6/7 | Wednesday Drew and painted all day at Vondelpark.
6/6 | Wednesday Day trip to The Hague to see the amazing artworks at the Mauritshuis. This museum features such stunning paintings as Vermeer’s View of Delft and Girl with a Pearl Earring, Fabritius’s The Goldfinch, and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp.
6/5 | Tuesday Second day of drawing and painting all day along the Amstel River.
6/4 | Monday Rick Brosen gave a first-day orientation about approaches and materials. Great tips on working outdoors! Drew and painted all day along the Amstel River.
6/3 | Sunday Our workshop participants started to trickle in. Rick and I went to Vondelpark (the Netherlands’ largest park) to select painting locales. Met and greeted the workshop participants at our hotel. Had a first night meal at Restaurant Haesje Claes for a classic Dutch dinner.
6/2 | Saturday Our hotel was in the Centre Canal District, a great location! We wandered the narrow cobblestone streets along the wide canals and over bridges that divide the 13th- and 14th-century and 17th-century buildings of Amsterdam to survey plein-air options. On Paper: An Exhibition of Drawings, is on exhibit until Friday, June 22, 2018 at The Florence Academy of Art, 888 Newark Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07302. In case you can’t make it in person, you can view the exhibit at their online gallery.
