Our hotel was in the Centre Canal District, a great location! We wandered the narrow cobblestone streets along the wide canals and over bridges that divide the 13th- and 14th-century and 17th-century buildings of Amsterdam to survey plein-air options. We selected two locations for everyone to draw and paint: spots along the Prinsengracht Canal and along the Amstel River.

We set out to visit the Rijksmuseum, home to some of the greatest Dutch art. Vermeer’s Little Street and Milkmaid and Rembrandt’s Night Watch are some of the highlights of works of the Dutch Golden Age housed in this wonderful museum.
